28-35cc Laminar Wing Yak (LamYak) builders kit. $339.99 plus shipping.

This profile plane hase been designed to take advantage of the new generation 28-35cc gas powered engine but can also be flown with a 180 size glow engine.

This model can be an easy flying aerobatic trainer or a 3D monster for the most exacting 3D/Free Style pilot. Designed with lightweight wing loading, a strong frame, and very generous control sizes it is a fully capable plane.

Wild Fred is the handle of the American aircraft designer who after 20 plus years of playing with airframe designs has come up with a design that is strong, light and really can do it all in a fully capable 3D machine.

The Laminar Wing is the result of Wild Fred designing many different wings. This airfoil is thinner than a high lift semi-symmetrical wing. The laminar wing has the center of pressure moved aft to allow the plane to stay in post stalled condition that is desired in 3D flight. Backed up with a generous amount of square inches of wing the plane can slip in and out of 3D flight on command with confidence. The airframe is sleek and offers less wind resistance so acceleration out of hover or on up lines are exemplary.

This is a complete kit that will allow you to build the basic airframe ready to be covered. You will need glue, covering and a tail wheel assembly to get the plane ready for electronics and engine components.

This kit has a removable wing with a quality carbon fiber wing tube. The wing ribs are expertly cut with building tabs to allow them to be jigged for a straight build. The fuse center section is cut with interlocking
tabs and goes together quickly. The two tube fuse construction is standard on all WWRC kits and affords maximum strength while being light weight in construction.  The version 2 is now upgraded with a quality Carbon Fiber wing tube.

The landing gear for this plane is a 6061 t-6 Aluminum custom cut  to accommodate the large size of the fuse and mounts in the fuse center section. This allows great durability in mounting and great prop clearance even on a 20 inch prop. Also included are 3 inch- lightweight wheels with aluminum hubs and WWRC no break / no slip axles. This kit does not come with a tail wheel assembly, see our (coming soon) tail wheel selection or you can use your favorite brand.

The hardware package includes SAE 4-40 socket head bolts/washers/fiber lock nuts to connect the HD Dubro ball links to your servo control arm. This is attached to a 303 Stainless Steel 4-40 thread capture end, .180 carbon rod and then stainless capture end to the Dubro style HD control arm and clevis as standard hardware. (Hardware can be upgraded to double truss G-4 phenolic control horn if desired.) Mounting hardware for the landing gear to the fuse is included along with 3/16 Robart hinges. This hardware package is very high quality.
