What is in a name?
Well the 30 cc part is easy. This profile plane hase been designed to take advantage of the new generation 30cc gas powered engine but can also be flown with a 160 to 180 size glow engine.
Wild Fred is the handle of the American aircraft designer who after 20 plus years of playing with airframe designs has come up with a design that is strong, light and really can do it all in a fully capable 3D machine.
This kit comes with a removable wing and when you build it can also accommodate an optional removable tail for the most exacting transportation requirements.
The Laminar Wing is the result of designing many different wings and this one which is thinner than a high lift semi-symmetrical wing with the center of pressure moved aft to allow the plane to stay in post stalled condition that is desired in 3D flight. Backed up with a generous amount of square inches of wing the plane can slip in and out of 3D flight on command with confidence.
In this Kit the key parts are cut on a CNC machine and with a flat fuselage, rudder and elevator. The kit comes with all wood necessary to build the plane. The wing ribs and key fuselage parts are cut on a CNC router. All sheeting, and sticks included along with ply firewall and ply landing gear block should you use a traditional one pice landing gear. Also included is a one inch aluminum wing tube assembly, a 3/4 inch fuselage tube for added strength, hardware for the wing tube and building plans.
In keeping with the USA effort of WrongWayRc this plane is entirely produced in the USA. If the balsa itself was grown here I would seek the balsa as well. But as most people know, the best balsa is grown in Ecuador. and only the finest balsa is used in this kit. The rest of the effort to offer this kit is made with USA suppliers. Once you build your Wild Fred Laminar Yak you can proudly tell all that your plane is truly made, "In The USA."
